Rinat Voligamsi

„Voligamsi” is a pseudonym of the artist. You will know his real name by reading this word backwards. The picturesque style, such as it is presented in 11.12, has developed in the 2000-s. His works have acquired an ironic and at the same time philosophical meaning, as well as his trademark retrophotorealistic manner. Voligamsi’s creative path is complex, full of crises and reinterpretations, because the artist always sets
himself a super-task — to reveal the most complex and profound things. His works are both interesting and understandable, thanks to the fact that the artist expresses himself in an ultra-precise pictorial language.
The world of Rinat Voligamsi is surrounded by an aura of something unconsciously inexplicable one. Despite its deliberate desolation, there are always a lot of strange phenomena happening in it. A specific
source is difficult to identify, as if the very existence was endowed with unprecedented forces that distort the reality around. A kind of parallel world with distorted rules of existence. There is an underlying sense of
anxiety, although nothing clearly indicates this. And it seems to be obvious that such hypetrophication should not be taken for the truth, but pseudo-documentality still tries to deceive the brain. At the peak of a tense emotional state, our eyes can see things that are not really there, making us believe in miracles. Rinat Voligamsi is a laureate of the State Prize of Russia in the field of literature and art in 1994. Repina 2014, Nominee Of The Kandinsky Prize 2014. The artist’s works are in the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the State Russian Museum, the Vladimir Smirnov and Konstantin Sorokin Foundation, the Redbase Contemporary Art Foundation, the Frances Foundation, the White Rabbit Collection, the collections of Igor Tsukanov and Roman and Sofia Trotsenko, and other museum and private collections. Rinat Voligamsi lives and works in Ufa.
