Alexey Azarov

Alexey Azarov was born in 1975 in a village near Arkhangelsk. Despite the fact that the artist’s professional activity is concentrated in the graphic design (among his works are computer animation and design of news
and analytical TV programs), since the early 2000s, he has been engaged in painting. Now artworks with the author’s seal AZART are parts of many private and museum collections. In 2020, Azarov successfully presented the „Policy of Truth” series at the Vladey auction. The artist creates satirical images that reflect the absurdity of everyday life, social and political events. He often uses personal memories, pop culture images to create perfect imaginary worlds. In the series „Wake Up”, Azarov talks about a fictional alternate reality in which Vladimir Lenin exists both as a real and fictional character. In the series „Flashes”, the artist addresses his experiences and memories of the past, which strangely enters into symbiosis with the present, and together create impossible images of the
postmodern world. The artist currently lives and works in Moscow.
