End Scene
march 01 – april 30, 2025
End Scene – the title of one of the exhibited paintings. We adopted it for the show as a confirmation and turning point at the same time. It marks not only the conclusion of a narrative, but also the powerful threshold of a transformation. As Arturo Palomba Gallery prepares for Art Dubai fair in its Dubai exhibition space, the exhibition becomes both a closing and opening scene, framing the end as fertile ground for renewal.
Within a villa that evokes the intimacy of a Salon Galerie, the gallery challenges the neutrality of the traditional white cube by offering an engaging, lived-in context for contemporary expression. Here, Mimmo Catania’s paintings coexist with architectural warmth, creating a bridge between the space and the public.
Mimmo Catania’s exhibition presents a decade of large- and medium-format oil paintings on canvas and paper. Catania, a Berlin resident known for his layered and introspective visual narratives, offers a journey through time, memory and identity. His works radiate themes that resonate deeply within today’s changing artistic discourse, aligning perfectly with the spirit of Art Dubai and the city’s growing role as a global art hub.
As the Middle Eastern art market expands, End Scene positions itself as a pivot point between eras, aesthetics and geographies. It is a poetic opening to new artistic horizons.
