Nichole Velasquez

Embracing the physical embodiment of Flânerie as our human condition together with pioneering a unique multiple exposure intervention on analogue f i l m photography. My compositions are exploring poetic interfaces between Human Vision and Machine Vision through objects engaging emotional memories. Looking, characterized by the private memories of the eyes who explore my pictures, frames my pioneering Heuristic methods which are inspired by insights in Assembly Theory. This interest is about framing bridges between our Human Vision— which is constructed over an evolutionary time and connected to emotional memories, experiences, and scene understanding— together with Machine Vision (which is also constructed over a polynomial time with materials and connected to our built world environments involving complex problem solving processes that impact us), which can extend our perceptions, impress new understandings and curate task iterations. My works engage viewers through poetic encounters to share and reveal a Possibility Space with dynamic processes which surround us during our current so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution.
